Smoking & Vaping Policy
This Smoking and Vaping Policy applies to all employees, subcontractors, clients, visitors, suppliers, and any individuals associated with Maxion Group, including its subsidiaries such as BCG Civil Limited T/A Maxion Civil, Maxion Building Services Limited, and others. Maxion Group is committed to promoting a healthy and safe work environment for all individuals. While we recognize the health risks associated with smoking and vaping, we also acknowledge the rights of individuals who choose to smoke or vape. This policy is designed to balance the needs of all parties while maintaining a safe, comfortable, and productive workplace.
Policy Statement:
1. Designated Smoking and Vaping Areas:
- Smoking and vaping are prohibited in all indoor areas of the company premises, including offices, meeting rooms, restrooms, hallways, stairwells, and all shared spaces.
- Smoking and vaping are also prohibited within 10 meters of any entrance or exit to any building managed by Maxion Group.
- Designated smoking and vaping areas will be provided in specific outdoor locations. These areas will be clearly marked with signs to ensure the safety and comfort of everyone.
- Smoking and vaping are allowed only in these designated areas and only during scheduled breaks such as morning, lunch, and afternoon breaks.
2. Designated Smoking and Vaping Areas at Worksites:
- If permitted by law, a designated smoking and vaping area will be provided at construction and other worksites managed by Maxion Group. This area will be clearly marked with signs.
- A disposal bin will also be provided in these areas for the safe disposal of cigarette butts and vaping materials.
- Cigarette butts must be fully extinguished before disposal to eliminate any potential fire hazards. Sand will be added to disposal bins to further mitigate fire risks.
3. Company Vehicles:
- Smoking and vaping are strictly prohibited in all company-owned or leased vehicles at all times.
- Subcontractors, clients, and visitors are required to comply with this policy when using company vehicles or entering company premises.
4. Smoking and Vaping During Business-Related Events:
- Smoking and vaping are prohibited during any business-related events, conferences, meetings, or other gatherings hosted by Maxion Group, both on and off-site.
5. Non-Retaliation:
- Individuals are encouraged to report violations of this policy to the appropriate personnel, including supervisors, HR department, or other relevant channels.
- Maxion Group strictly prohibits retaliation against any individual who reports a violation in good faith.
6. Compliance and Enforcement:
- All employees, subcontractors, clients, and visitors are expected to comply with this policy at all times.
- Non-compliance may result in corrective action, which may include removal from the premises, termination of contract, or other actions as deemed appropriate.
7. Support for Smoking Cessation:
- Maxion Group encourages individuals who smoke or vape to seek support and resources for quitting.
- Information on smoking cessation programs or available resources will be provided to employees and subcontractors.
8. Communication and Education:
- Regular communication and training will be provided to ensure that everyone associated with Maxion Group is aware of this policy and its importance.
- This policy will be included in the employee handbook, subcontractor agreements, orientation materials, and company communications.
